Jade Waits recognizes that therapy can feel especially vulnerable for people whose identities, experiences, or needs have not always been understood or respected. She strives to create an affirming environment where clients can bring their full selves into the therapeutic process without pressure to fit someone else’s expectations. Jade places a strong emphasis on autonomy, curiosity, and trust, allowing clients to move at a pace that feels right for them while gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and what they need to move forward.
Jade works with adults, couples, and families navigating trauma, neurodivergence, identity exploration, recovery, significant life changes, and a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns. She has a particular interest in supporting LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and people whose experiences have been shaped by complex systems, including foster care, housing instability, and healthcare. Jade understands that these experiences can influence relationships, self-perception, emotional regulation, and a person’s ability to feel secure with others. Her work helps clients examine patterns, reconnect with personal values and strengths, and develop tools that support greater stability and self-understanding.
Her therapeutic work is relational, culturally responsive, and grounded in a trauma-informed and harm-reduction perspective. Jade incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, somatic techniques, humanistic principles, and strengths-based interventions according to each client’s circumstances and goals. Rather than approaching therapy as a one-size-fits-all process, she encourages exploration, personal choice, and meaningful connection between thoughts, emotions, experiences, and the body. Jade is committed to helping clients build practical skills, strengthen relationships, and develop ways of living that feel more authentic and aligned with who they are.
