WHAT IS ADIS?
The Alcohol and Drug Information School program is designed to provide education and encourage healthier lifestyle choices for those who do not have a substance use disorder diagnosis. The curriculum addresses topics such as the impact of alcohol and drugs on the body, driving safety, and the legal and personal consequences of substance use. The class is led by licensed, trained, and experienced counselors. Recovery Services offers this service via teletherapy or in-person.
For adults, these programs help build a clearer understanding of the consequences of substance use and develop practical skills to reduce harm to themselves and others. Participants gain awareness of both short-term risks, such as overdose, and long-term effects, including dependence and health complications related to different patterns of use.
WHAT TO BRING TO ADIS CLASS
If you had an evaluation at another facility, it is important that you bring a copy of your assessment indicating “no diagnosis” for a substance use disorder. You may register for this class by texting or calling 206.747.6989, or, you may complete the required registration forms upon early arrival at Recovery Services.
